Beloved India: AW 2008

Let's take a look through the AW 2008 scarf book, featuring Beloved India (included in the Single Owner Collection drop) as the cover girl.

The Hermès theme of the year in 2008 was Passage to India, so it’s only fitting that the scarf Beloved India by Philippe Dumas appears on the cover. This design is also included in the Single Owner Collection, which will be available for sale on my site on March 19th at 7:00 PM EST.

Now, let’s take a look through the Autumn/Winter 2008 scarf book for some inspiration!

We open the catalog to a collection of India-inspired looks, reflected in the colors, motifs, and materials. My personal favorite is the wide belt—it’s so versatile, whether worn with a dress or pants. You can easily recreate this look using a Maxi Twilly or by folding a 90cm scarf into a bias fold.

Beloved India looks stunning styled this way, as it takes on more of a geometric look.

Chasse en Inde is another highly popular design that has been reissued multiple times. It was also featured in The Age of Adaline, even though this pattern wasn’t available in the 1930s–1950s when the movie was set. That just goes to show how timeless it is.

We always love an exceptional scarf, and this season's designs even included sequins!

She created a complete look by tying a Cashmere 140 as a top with a coordinating skirt, but why not combine two Cashmere 140s for a full outfit?

Here’s another fun inspiration photo where she used a winter scarf as a headscarf. It doesn’t always have to be a 90cm.

I personally love the Glam scarves. They’re so shiny, and they've also been released in a bandana format, which I've previously had in my boutique here.

Here, she has a Glam scarf styled in her hair, and let's also take a moment to appreciate the actual Hermès ribbon in her hair and the Medor scarf rings around her wrist. Another fun way to style a scarf ring.

Carre en Carres is always a favorite for it’s 5 scarves in one. These have been released in many variations, but most notably in a more exceptional version, which is actually 5 scarves sewn together (sold in my boutique here) and the version seen in this booklet, which is 5 printed together (sold in my boutique here). Although fringe has been very popular lately at Hermès with the release of the fringe Twillys, it is nothing new to the house, as we can see with this leather and fringe tuxedo scarf on the right.

We end with a continuation from the beginning, this time in cooler tones! The lady on the left has managed to style 3 scarves at once.
